A Collective Agreement (CA) is a legally binding written contract between the employer and a group of workers (known as a Bargaining Unit), which outlines the terms and conditions of employment.
These agreements don’t come from the employer’s generosity; they are the result of a process called Collective Bargaining, where the employer and union, on behalf of its members, negotiate the terms and conditions of employment.
Your collective agreement is your guarantee of fair and equitable treatment at work. If you have any concerns about your treatment or believe a policy may have been violated, please contact your steward or union representative immediately.
